How one real business experience changed an employer’s view of a student.

Wenpu had a strong academic background and clear potential.
However, his first interview with Funding Societies did not lead to an internship opportunity.
The issue was not simply whether he was capable.
The interview had not given the employer enough evidence of how he would perform in a real business environment.
ASC Global brought Wenpu to the ASEAN Technology Summit 2025 in Malaysia, where he supported Chinese companies during the event.

This was not a simulated exercise.
It was a live business environment with real expectations and real responsibility.
In that environment, Wenpu demonstrated qualities that had been difficult to show in a traditional interview.
These were no longer strengths described on a CV.
They had been observed in action.
ASC Global then returned to Funding Societies.
This time, we were not presenting the same candidate with a revised CV.
We shared Wenpu’s progress, his performance in Malaysia and the new evidence that had emerged from a real business environment.
Based on this progress, we asked the company to reconsider him.
Funding Societies gave Wenpu a second opportunity.
During his subsequent internship, Wenpu continued to demonstrate strong execution, adaptability and professional capability.
The company was able to observe him through actual work, not just an interview.
One employer described ASC-referred students this way:
“The students ASC introduced were not just internship-ready. The bigger question was whether we could retain them afterwards.”
Wenpu ultimately received a full-time conversion opportunity from Funding Societies.
At the same time, he also secured another career opportunity with Xiaohongshu in Shanghai.
The most meaningful change was not simply that he had more offers.
He moved from trying to prove his potential to having real evidence that companies could recognise.
